I’ve never liked Obama, but he is after all the President and he did have to give the green light. Yes, he makes the announcement in his typically self-centered way, but no need to be peevish. Give credit where it is due: his administration continued the Bush administration’s work in tracking bin Laden and carried out the assassination. Good on ‘em for that.
I agree Morgan. It’s good for America that bin Laden is dead. Would have been nice if he had given a bit more of a tribute to others who helped. But that’s Obama. So un-Reagan.
@Morgan, I am no Obama fan, but as Commander in Chief, he has every right to take credit for the command to act. Our goal all along was to capture or kill Bin Laden, and it happened on his watch. We should celebrate as Americans, without the political rhetoric that usually accompanies everything these days. I for one give thanks for his death. Can you imagine what we would have gone through if he was captured alive. We would have to deal with the taliban and al queda regardless, this just makes it easier to deal with.
