Eight Reasons Why Romney Will Win Big on November 6th

By Ben Hart

I’m not the biggest Mitt Romney fan.  I was pretty much in the anyone-but-Romney camp during the GOP primaries.  I was for Michele Bachmann, then Rick Perry, then Herman Cain, then Newt, then Rick Santorum.  I just don’t think Mitt is much of a conservative, if he’s even conservative at all.  How can he be if he continues to defend RomneyCare?

But here’s the truth . . .

He won the GOP nomination because most Republicans thought he had the best chance of beating Obama. Most GOP primary voters thought that more important than conservative purity. After all, the very fate of the Republic is at stake. We can think about conservative purity later.

In the final analysis, the majority GOP Primary voters (who are conservative) were probably right.  I was looking for someone better.  I was probably wrong. The rest of the pack of GOP contenders (though more conservative) were measured by the GOP primary electorate, and found wanting.

Here’s another truth . . .

Mitt Romney will win the election against Barack Obama on November 6th by about the same margin

as Ronald Reagan defeated Jimmy Carter in 1980 and by about the same margin as Obama defeated John McCain in 2008. Here are eight reasons why:

REASON #1: Undecided voters always break heavily against the incumbent, usually by a 4-1 ratio.

Most polls right now have Mitt Romney and Barack Obama about tied. Some polls have Obama up by a point or two. Others have Romney up by a point or two. The Real Clear Politics average of recent polls has Obama leading Romney by .7 percent — less than a point.

Scott Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll has had Romney holding a slight lead over Obama for the past 10 days in a row.

But the number to focus on in these polls is the percent of voters who say they are inclined to vote for Obama. Forget the pro-Romney percentage for now. The fact that his number at this point in the race is about the same as Obama is irrelevant because many voters still don’t know Romney.

But everyone knows Obama. And right now polls show just 43 to 46 percent of Americans saying they are inclined to vote for Obama over Romney. That’s it!

With Romney already in June now garnering about the same level of support as Obama, this leaves 8-14 percent undecided, according to these polls.

If Romney wins just a majority of undecided voters, he wins. But more likely, he’ll win 70-80 percent of the undecideds.

If that happens, he wins by about the same margin as Obama defeated John McCain in 2008. That’s the most likely scenario.

REASON #2: Obama’s record as President.

There is nothing Obama can point to in his record as a success except the killing of bin Laden, which had nothing to do with Obama.

As President, Obama has added $6 TRILLION to the national debt. He wanted even more spending (much more) but his budgets were so absurd that they were overwhelmingly rejected . . . by Democrats.

The unemployment rate is stuck at 8.2 percent. But it’s really more like 17 percent when you add in the folks who want jobs, but have stopped looking for jobs because they are so discouraged by the lack of available jobs; and when you count those who have part-time jobs, but want full-time jobs if they could find one.

Economic growth under Obama is non-existent.

Obama blames Bush for the current state of the economy. But let’s not forget that the Obama Administration announced that the recession was over in June . . . of 2009.

That’s was before the any of the Obama policies had kicked in — including the stimulus.

So if Obama had done absolutely nothing, we would likely be in the third year of a robust economic recovery.

But guess when the economic recovery stopped.

It stopped the day after  Obama signed ObamaCare into law on March 23, 2010.

Here’s the Heritage Foundation chart that proves it:

Remember, Joe Biden was predicting that the summer of 2010 would become known as the “Summer of Recovery.” He predicted the U.S. economy would create 500,000 new jobs per month on average.

That likely would have happened — except that ObamaCare passed.

Add to this the continued $1.2 TRILLION annual deficits as far as the eye can see, the assault Obama is waging on American oil and coal companies, the avalanche of new regulations coming out of the EPA every month, and eventually you kill the private sector goose that lays all the golden eggs.

Businesses and investors are keeping their cash parked on the sidelines and waiting for the end of the Obama regime.

How can you intelligently invest if you don’t know how much it will cost to hire a new employee or what all these new regulations being created by the EPA and other federal agencies will cost?

Then there’s the coming “Taxmageddon” on January1, 2012.

That’s when the Bush tax cuts will expire if Congress and Obama don’t extend them. It’s also when the Social Security tax holiday expires and the Death Tax kicks back in. Most importantly, it’s when five of the 18 ObamaCare tax hikes kick in — plus all the ObamaCare regulations, bureaucracy, 16,000 new IRS agents being hired to enforce ObamaCare, etc.

So businesses and individuals are wisely hoarding their money, buying gold, and the like.

Might as well wait and see what happens in the election before putting any cash you have to work — whether investing in hiring new employees, buying new plant equipment, or starting a new business.

So there’s no liklihood of any economic improvement before the election — that is, before Obama is voted out of office.

REASON #3: Obama’s campaign message is built on a provable lie

Obama’s entire campaign message can be summed up in one sentence: Increase taxes on the rich.

It’s a Marxist us-against-them class warfare message.

But here’s Obama’s math problem with this message:

Using 2008 numbers from the Census Bureau, about 321,000 Americans filed tax returns showing incomes of $1,000,000 or more. (I’m sure it’s fewer now after four years of Obamanomics).

If the IRS confiscated 100 percent of this money (every penny of it), this would provide the federal government with only enough money to run for another 111 days.

In other words, we could not make a dent in the national debt by confiscating every penny earned by America’s $1,000,000 earners.

But what if the IRS confiscated every penny of Americans reporting annual incomes of $200,000 or more?

If the IRS did that, we could run the federal government for a total of 253 days.

So that doesn’t get us very far either.

Then we’d be right back to where we are now, running $1.2 TRILLION annual deficits — except we’d have no more millionaires to tax. We would not even have anymore upper-middle class Americans to tax.

So, actually, we’d likely be running $3 TRILLION annual deficits, or worse. Our economy would implode. We’d be reduced to Third World status, which seems to be what Obama wants.

Americans, of course, know this. They know they’ve never been hired for a job by a poor person. That’s why most Americans don’t hate the rich. They like the rich. They aspire to be rich someday.

And they know confiscating more money from the rich will not create more jobs and is not the answer to America’s economic woes.

So Obama’s campaign message is built on a lie — a lie that can be refuted with a few seconds of quickie fourth-grade math. The American people, once they focus on Obama’s math problem for just a few seconds, will understand this.

Romney should run this math in a campaign ad.

REASON #4: Obama is far to the Left of most Americans

For decades, Gallup has been tracking the percentage of Americans who call themselves liberal vs the number who describe themselves as conservative.

That number has been holding steady at about 20 percent who describe themselves as liberal compared to about 40 percent who call themselves conservative.

Here’s the Gallup polling chart showing America’s ideological breakdown, tracked since 1992:

So America is clearly a center-right country.

As George Herbert Walker Bush once famously said: “I’m a conservative, but I’m not a nut about it.”

He was responding at that time (somewhat in anger) to critics from the conservative side who didn’t think he was conservative enough.

But that’s a pretty good description of about where the American people are.

They are basically conservative. But they don’t spend their whole day thinking about politics either.

Obama is far to the Left of the American people — far to the Left of even most rank-and-file Democrat voters. His closest associates have been the likes of unrepentant ex-terrorist William Ayers and the America-hating pastor Jeremiah Wright. Obama was a member of the socialist New Party in the 1990s because he did not think the Democrat Party was Left enough for him. He has appointed radicals, such as self-described Communist Van Jones and self-described Maoist Anita Dunn to high posts in his Administration. His Attorney General Eric Holder is the most radical Attorney General in American history. His entire Administration reads like a Who’s Who of the exgreme Left.

Obama’s big recent announcements have been to declare: 1) He will no longer enforce U.S. Immigration law; 2) He will fight to make “gay marriage” the law of the land; 3) and he will force Catholics and pro-life Americans to purchase health plans that include coverage for abortion pills and other abortion-inducing procedures.

On economics, Obama is at best a Swedish-style socialist — even though Sweden is now abandoning Swedish-style socialism.

More likely, Obama is really a Hugo Chavez-style Marxist — if Obama thought he could get away with a truly Marxist agenda.

This is just not where the American people are.

Most Presidential campaigns try to move to the center as the election nears — the idea being to try to win over the undecideds, moderates, and independents. Obama is doing the opposite. He’s moving hard Left.

That’s just not going to sell with the voters on November 6th.

REASON #5: Obama’s arrogance, annoying personality, and pathological lying

For some reason, the inside-the-beltway pundit class keeps telling us Obama is likeable and a brilliant speaker.

I don’t see him that way.

Obama is arrogant, elitist, and listens to no one.

He holds press conferences, and then refuses to take questions.

His speeches go on interminably. His most recent speech in Ohio on his economic plans (advertised as a major address) went on for 54 minutes, but announced absolutely nothing new.

The Republican National Committee has a great ad out showing how Obama just repeats that same speech over and over again — word for word. He sounds like a broken record . . . because he really is a broken record.

The truth is, his speeches are dreadful. Indeed, there seems to be only one Obama speech. And it’s getting very old. Even his supporters on the Left are criticizing Obama’s speeches, scratching their heads that he never says anything new.

Vanity Fair published a good piece on how isolated Obama is, how he has vey few close friends.

We now find out that the girlfriend Obama wrote about in his memoir was fiction.

He now calls this character in his memoir a “composite” girlfriend.

As I write this post, Obama has just completed his 100th round of golf — a dubious milestone — and is famous for his many lavish vacations at taxpayer expense.

All this as the wealth of the average American household dropped by 40% over a three-year period (from 2008 through 2010 according to a report by the Federal Reserve) and appears to be continuing to plummet.

But Obama doesn’t care about the little people.  He just wants to know when is his next trip to Martha’s Vineyard at taxpayer expense . . . or when he gets to do another fundraiser with Hollywood celebs.

This is a fellow who appears to have had no childhood friends.  No one has stepped forward from his college days to tell us what young Obama was like back then.  How strange.

We do have Obama boasting in his memoir about his heavy drug use, including cocaine — what he casually calls “blow.”

That’s all we really know about Obama’s youth — that he was a heavy illegal drug user.

And remember all those faintings at Obama’s campaign rallies in 2008. Well, those turned out to be fake:

This was just all part of Team Obama’s effort to create a cult of personality — even trying to put Obama on a par with Jesus Christ. Only an insane narcissist could come up with an act so preposterous . . . and think we’d believe it.  I guess enough people did for him to win in 2008. But people are wising up now to this fraud.

Can you imagine Ronald Reagan ever pulling such a charade?

Of course not, because Reagan was a man of substance.

Obama is a hollow man, an empty suit — cold and soulless. There is no there there.

He is also a pathological liar. Here’s a good article in the AMERICAN THINKER on how Obama managed to tell 36 lies in just one press conference >>>

This is the norm for all his press conferences and speeches.

Obama makes perjurer Bill Clinton look like Honest Abe Lincoln by comparison.

Obama’s economic policies have failed. If what you believe (in Obama’s case Marxism or Socialism) keeps failing when put to the test of reality, most rational people would begin to question the theory.

Albert Einstein said that the definition of insanity is “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

That definition certainly fits Obama.

He is so committed to his Marxist or socialist ideology that he will not even consider the possibility that his economic theories are wrong, even when they always fail when tried.

How can anyone think Obama has such a winning personality when he has no friends — has to make up a girlfriend for his memoir?

How can anyone think Obama is a likeable person when he refuses to follow the law (i.e. U.S. immigration law); makes his own laws through fiat; refuses to allow questions at press conferences; and continues to destroy the country?

How can anyone think Obama is a great speaker when he just gives the same bad speech over and over again?

How can anyone think Obama is a good guy when he tells so many provable lies?

When a state Senator in Illinois, Obama actually voted to deny lifesaving treatment for babies who are accidentally born alive after a botched abortion.

How could anyone think that anyone who would vote this way is a good person?

This vote by Obama should make even the most pro-abortion diehards recoil in disgust.

Obama should get the Michael Vick Humanitarian Award for that  one.

REASON #6: Obama’s lawlessness

Congress has repeatedly rejected the so-called DREAM Act that would allow illegal aliens to stay in America if they are enrolled in school.

So Obama announced that he will no longer follow long-established U.S. immigration law. Instead, he will allow illegal aliens under the age of 30 to stay in America if they haven’t been convicted of any felonies.

Obama also announced that he will no longer enforce the federal marriage law that defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

Congress rejected Obama’s “cap and trade” law to punish industry for emitting CO2 (carbon dioxide) into the atomospher (the exact same non-poisonous gas you emit when you exhale). So instead he is enacting cap-and-trade through regulatory fiat by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Obama’s Justice Department has openly declared that it will not enforce federal election laws. In fact, the Obama Justice Department is suing states that try to prevent vote fraud by cleaning their voter lists of fake people and illegal voters.

Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder has refused for years to comply with lawful Congressional subpoenas to deliver all documents concerning the infamous “Fast & Furious” scandal that involved the Justice Department knowingly delivering thousands of guns to Mexico’s drug cartels (which has resulted in the killing a U.S. border control agent and the killing of thousands of innocent Mexicans).

NOTE: Holder’s plan with Fast & Furious, apparently, was to use this weird strategy as a way to discredit the Second Amendment and gun ownership in America by having these weapons come back over our border to kill innocent Americans. Now it appears obvious to any casual observer that he lied to Congress — committed perjury.

The American people do not think our Commander-in-Chief should be America’s Law-Breaker-in-Chief.

John Boehner and Republicans in the House should immediately draw up Articles of Impeachment detailing all the laws President Obama and his Administration have broken and continue to break.

Once the American people begin to focus on just how lawless Obama really is, the overwhelming majority of voters will say “enough is enough” on November 6th.

REASON #7: Romney is running a pretty good campaign so far

During the Republican primaries, Mitt Romney looked a bit wobbly on a few occasions.

He still has not explained RomneyCare to the satisfaction of me or most conservatives.

But he appears to have righted the ship for his campaign against Obama. He’s done a good job documenting Obama’s disastrous economic record. Mostly, he’s just allowing Obama to self-destruct, which seems to be happening on a near-daily basis.

Romney is now raising more money than Obama. His campaign is run by real professionals and appears to be tightly scripted.

Unlike Obama, Romney is not making gaffes, mistakes, and unforced errors. Romney’s campaign at the moment seems much more disciplined than Obama’s.

Unlike John McCain, Romney is attacking Obama. The attacks could be tougher. I’d like to see Romney really take the gloves off.

Romney seems content with just saying Obama doesn’t understand how the economy works. That might be good enough to win.  But I’d like to see Mitt thoroughly document how radical Obama really is — and to show how Obama’s radicalism is playing itself out in policy, especially in his unconstitutional and illegal executive orders. I’d like to see Romney really go after Obama’s lawlessness.

But, unlike McCain in 2008, at least Romney is attacking . . . some.

If this election is about Obama, not Romney, that will be good enough for Romney to win a landslide victory on November 6th.

REASON #8: Scott Walker’s resounding victory in Wisconsin is a strong indicator of what America is really thinking.

Scott Walker won by 7 percent in a heavily blue state in the infamous recall election — an election he was expected to lose just 90 days ago.

Even on the eve of the election, polls showed Walker and his labor-backed opponent Tom Barrett neck-and-neck. Even the exit polls on the day of the election had the race too close to call.

Anyone who watched MSNBC’s recall election coverage as the returns were coming in could see how shocked they were by the results. MNBC’s commentators clearly expected Walker to lose — or at least for this election to be close.

Obama won Wisconsin by 14 percent in 2008. With Walker’s 7 point victory in June of 2012, that’s a 21 point turnaround.

Walker won by more this year than he won by in 2010 — the biggest GOP landslide year in modern political history.

Polls now show 53 percent of Wisconsin’s voters approving of the job Scott Walker is doing. Walker is arguably the most conservative governor in America. Certainly, the Left thinks so. Again, Wisconsin is a solidly blue state — hasn’t voted Republican in a Presidential election since Ronald Reagan’s landslide win when he carried 49 states in 1984.

If we are now having Wisconsin-sized polling errors in the rest of the country, what will that mean for November 6th? If the polls are overstating support for Obama by just 1 percent, that puts Ohio and Florida solidly in the Romney column.

But what if the polls are overstating voter support for Obama by 4 percent (a Wisconsin-sized polling error)? Then the magnitude of the victory starts looking like Reagan’s in 1980. But it could even get worse for Obama . . . for all the reasons I’ve outlined above.

Mitt Romney is no Ronald Reagan conservative. But he’ll save the Republic just by defeating Obama. He’s competent — as proven by his stellar performances running the Olympics and Bain Capital. He won’t scale the federal government back down to Constitutional size. But he’s clearly a patriot who loves America. He certainly won’t use the Presidency to wage war against the country and defile the office the way Obama has. Romney will do a decent job as President.
