Brit Writer on Rioters: ‘Years of liberal dogma have spawned a generation of amoral, uneducated, welfare dependent, brutalised youngsters’
Listen to What These Rioters Have to Say: They’re doing it because it’s fun. Plus they don’t like the rich.
MAX HASTINGS-U.K. DAILY MAIL: A few weeks after the U.S. city of Detroit was ravaged by 1967 race riots in which 43 people died, I was shown around the wrecked areas by a black reporter named Joe Strickland.
He said: ‘Don’t you believe all that stuff people here are giving media folk about how sorry they are about what happened. When they talk to each other, they say: “It was a great fire, man!” ’
I am sure that is what many of the young rioters, black and white, who have burned and looted in England through the past few shocking nights think today.
It was fun. It made life interesting. It got people to notice them. As a girl looter told a BBC reporter, it showed ‘the rich’ and the police that ‘we can do what we like’.
f you live a normal life of absolute futility, which we can assume most of this week’s rioters do, excitement of any kind is welcome. The people who wrecked swathes of property, burned vehicles and terrorised communities have no moral compass to make them susceptible to guilt or shame.
Most have no jobs to go to or exams they might pass. They know no family role models, for most live in homes in which the father is unemployed, or from which he has decamped.
They are illiterate and innumerate, beyond maybe some dexterity with computer games and BlackBerries.
They are essentially wild beasts. I use that phrase advisedly, because it seems appropriate to young people bereft of the discipline that might make them employable; of the conscience that distinguishes between right and wrong.
Brit Paper Outs Looters: Name a Rioter
THESE are just some of the 2,000 suspects being hunted today over Britain’s riot mayhem.
THE SUN: Police issued the CCTV shots and appealed to witnesses to identify anyone they recognise.
Sun readers are urged to name and shame any morons they saw looting or committing arson and wrecking property.
Commander Simon Foy warned rioters that the Met’s Operation Withern would track them down.

He said: “Those who have or intend to go out and commit violent, criminal acts should be warned. We will use photographs and evidence to identify you and bring you to justice. We will not tolerate the violence we have seen.”
Officers in London, Birmingham and Bristol released pictures – and many more images are expected.
The wanted list includes six women suspected over violence in Croydon. Ram-raiders in Lambeth were also caught on camera.
Trouble-makers are handing out leaflets telling yobs not to panic if they are caught on CCTV.
The A5 sheets wrongly advise: “The photos are not necessarily evidence.”
By this morning the Met had arrested 768 people — one a boy of 11 — and charged 111 of them.
More than 110 people were also arrested in Manchester, with 80 nicked in Birmingham.
Three suspects were being quizzed on suspicion of attempted murder after a cop was mowed down by a car.
Scotland Yard launched a dedicated webpage to show the images of people wanted over the chaos at met.police.uk/disordersuspects/.
Prosecutors promised to act rapidly and 18 suspects have already faced London courts and been remanded in custody.
London’s chief prosecutor Alison Saunders said: “We are working closely with the police and have a team available to provide charging decisions as quickly as possible.”
Police cells in London were all full last night and prisoners were sent to police stations outside the capital.
Rioters could be tracked down through the BlackBerry smartphones they use to co-ordinate attacks. Research In Motion, who make the mobiles, will decode encrypted messages for police.
Experts at the Government’s top-secret GCHQ communications centre are also ready to help.
A few more years of Obama, and the rest of America will be like this
FOX NEWS, NEW YORK: Several children were spotted running around a Jersey City street on Wednesday. They were naked and hungry and their mother was nowhere in sight. Two teenage girls came to the rescue.
“They were running up and down the road- no clothes on,” said Nilaja Wyatt, 17. She decided to take control of the situation after her friend Aaliyah Glover said her mother almost ran over one of the kids.
“We saw a little boy — he ran in front of our car so my mother had to swerve her car,” Aaliyah Glover said.
Of course, this kind of economic and social catastrophe is not unique to Jersey City. Listen to this Detroit woman waiting to get some of that “Obama stash”
These are Obama’s voters. This is where Obama is taking America, on purpose.
NBC NEW YORK: A nude photo of a 13-year-old New Jersey girl has been passed around a middle school, and students have been warned they must delete it from their cellphones by today.
Police were called to Eisenhower Middle School in Wyckoff after teachers investigating an argument among four students found the photo of the girl on a cellphone.
Police Chief Benjamin Fox told The Record newspaper that students who still have the photo after May 19 could be charged with endangering the welfare of a child or possession of child pornography.
The chief says while there are no plans to inspect students’ cellphones, the chief says there are ways things are brought to the attention of law enforcement.
Liberals say rapper ‘Common’ should be excused for talking about killing cops and killing Bush because he’s a artistic soul with enormous creative talent. Here’s the terrific poem he delivered last night at the White House for the Obamas:
For one King’s dream he was able to Barack us.
One King’s dream he was able to Barack us.
One King’s dream he was able to Barack us.”
Robert Frost and William Butler Yeats, call your office.
You have a new competitor in “Common.”
Simply brilliant . . . for a six-year old.
In case you can’t get enough of “Common,” here the entire poem he read at the White House:
I woke up with the sunshine. A sunshine I had never seen. There was light at the end of it. Reminded me to forever dream. I was dreaming I walked into the White House. With love on my sleeve. And love for each and every one of you. Reminding you to believe. These are the words of a believer achiever. Leader of the globe, feed the souls of those in need. I bleed the blood of the struggle. Walking over troubled puddles. The hustle is in my chest. No hustle no progress. Extremities of life in this process. The birth of a son. The death of another. With love I caress both mothers. And told ‘em whose in control is the one that’s above is. I walk where money talks and love stutters. The body language of a nation. Going though changes. The young become dangerous. Spent into anger. Anger gets sent through the chamber. It’s tough when your own look like strangers. We are the sons of gangsters and stone rangers. If he could how would Ernie Barnes paint us? Look at the picture. It’s hard not to blame us. But time forgives in the shy where the young die often. Do they end up in a coffin because we haven’t taught them? Is it what we talkin’, we really ain’t walking. Dudes, hustlers, paid. How much did it cost them? I find myself on the same corner that we lost them. Real talkin’ in their ear like a walkman. My thoughts been around the corner to the world. So when I see them I see my baby girl. The Lord lives among us. The youngest hunger, recover. Means to get it by anyways necessary under pressure. Children feeling lesser with the spill upon the dresser. Killer, willer aggressors. Destiny’s children, survivors, soldiers. In front of buildings their eyes look older. It’s hard to see blessings in a violent culture. Face against rappings. Sirens holsters – that ‘aint the way that Langston Hughes wrote us. So controllers on the shoulders of Moses. And Noah. We go from being precious to Oprah. Cultivated to overcome. Ever since we came over. Seize the day in the way that you can see the determined. The soul that keeps burning. Shorty’s know to keep learning. Lessons in my life are like stripes that we earning. I took Grant’s advice that Christ is returning. Like a thief in the night. I write for beacons of light. For those of us in dark alleys and park valleys. Street hits spark valleys of the conscience. Conquerors of a contest . Even the unseen know that God watches. For one King’s dream he was able to Barack us. One King’s dream he was able to Barack us. One King’s dream he was able to Barack us.”
How did this guy make it through creative writing classs?
You have to hear this to get the full flavor. It’s just an ad for Obama. Embarrassing. Pathetic.
Do people really pay to listen to this?
The funniest part was President Obama jumping to his feet and applauding “Common’s” performance, grins ear to ear.
At least what “Common” did here was better than all his raps urging the killing of cops and Bush and talking about bitches a hos.
So this is one of the best poets the Obamas could find . . . after scouring all of America?
You get the sense that even Common know how truly wretched this is. Seriously, you can find better poetry in any Middle School.
More proof of cultural decay.
Here two black females gang up on a white customer and beat her nearly to death, while several black employees watch and do nothing.
Surely, these larger, stronger black males could have stopped the attack on the white girl if they had wanted to. The beaten white woman had a seizure from the repeated kicks and blows she took to her head.
Police have now apprehended the attackers. A 14 year-old has been charged as a juvenile. Charges are pending against the 18-year-old woman.
We still don’t know the medical condition of the victim.
The attack happened in Baltimore, Maryland.
The video was first posted on a website called WorldStarHipHop.com, which is making an industry out of creating, posting and publicizing videos of blacks attacking whites for their hip hop fans to chuckle over.
In the video, you can hear the cameraman coaching and cheering on the attackers every step of the way. He then warned them to leave McDonald’s, saying “Police on their way. Y’all better get out of here.”
The McDonald’s employee who shot the footage has now been identified as Vernon Hackett.
At one point on the tape, Hackett can be heard laughing hysterically at the beating taking place in front of him.
The McDonald’s franchise owner announced that Hackett has been fired for cheering on the beating.
Hackett also faces possible criminal charges for being an accessory in this brutal crime.
UPDATE: It appears the victim may have been a transgendered prostitute. Still no excuse for this kind of an attack. The victim’s name is Chrissy Lee Polis. One of the attackers said Polis was “looking at my man.”
Here’s more of WorldStarHipHop.com’s work . . .
Here two black men provoke a fight with a white couple as part of a planned attack in order to create a viral video.
What’s striking about this video is that the cameramen were prepared and ready to video the provocation and fight.
It’s clear that the provocation of the white couple by the two black men was planned in advance for the purpose of creating this video — the goal being for the video to go viral and thereby bring traffic into the WorldStarHipHop.com website.
This is a big fad now in the hip hop community — to video blacks attacking whites for the hip hop community to laugh over. It’s the 21st Century version of “wilding.”
You might remember the Central Park jogger who, in the 1989, was was a victim of the “wilding” fad.
QUESTION: Will Eric Holder and the Obama Justice Department investigate WorldStarHipHop.com to find out the extent to which it might be creating these attacks on whites for the purpose of producing these videos.
In other words, will Eric Holder and the Obama Justice Department launch a Hate Crimes investigation into the owners of the WorldStarHipHop.com website?
MICHAEL WESLEY-THE AUSTRALIAN: WE thought 2010 would be a pivotal year, and we were right. It saw profound political shocks in Australia, Britain and the US. And it was the year China seemed to tire of Deng Xiaoping’s injunction that the rising giant should bide its time, and began to assert its interests aggressively.
It was a year of cascading debt crises, rioting in the streets of Paris and Athens, and cracks appearing in that symbol of European unity and confidence, the euro. It was a year in which the US President and Secretary of State were feted like rock stars across Asia in ways not seen for a quarter of a century.
I believe 2011 will be just as momentous. Perhaps the biggest question of our time is whether the West is in enduring decline.
The question has been posed many times, going back to Oswald Spengler’s pessimistic post-World War I forecasts.
Since that time, the West has been written off, first against the Soviet bloc and then again following the rise of the Japanese-led Asian tiger economies.
ASSOCIATED PRESS: “ILY!” Susan Maushart’s 16-year-old daughter often calls out over her shoulder as she leaves the house. Sure, actual words would be better. But Mom knows not to complain.
“A mother of teenagers is pathetically grateful for an ‘I love you’ no matter what form it takes,” she observes.
Then there are the various forms of “LOL” that her teens use in regular parlance – it’s become a conjugable verb by now. And of course, there’s the saltier acronym used by son Bill: “WTF, Mom?!” But before you judge, note that former VP candidate Sarah Palin just used that one in a TV interview. And CNN’s Anderson Cooper used it on his show the other night.
Acronyms have been around for years. But with the advent of text and Twitter-language, it certainly feels like we’re speaking in groups of capital letters a lot more. It’s a question that intrigues linguists and other language aficionados – even though they’ll tell you they have absolutely no concrete research on it.
