Obama kicks off his campaign in mostly empty basketball arena
Barack Obama kicked off his campaign at an Ohio State University basketball arena, which was half empty. This arena seats about 19,000. Presumably, his campaign chose that venue because they figured they could fill up this basketball arena with Ohio State University’s 60,000-plus students who could be coaxed and bribed to show up. They didn’t.
